1. Business expands
Club Scrub recently expanded into the 2,200 sq. ft. space next door in the Mesa Ridge Shopping Center, 1200 E. Palm Valley Blvd., Ste. 1202. 2. Relay for Life
The American Cancer Society is seeking more teams to join the Relay for Life of Round Rock April 4 at Stony Point High School, 1801 Bowman Road. Funds go to the American Cancer Society to support cancer research and local services and resources for cancer patients and their families. 3. The club is back
Forest Creek Country Club, 100 Twin Ridge Parkway, will be remodeled and open as a country club April 1 after serving as a special event venue for 20 years. The club recently began offering memberships with an initiation fee of $2,000 and monthly fees of $149 per family, $99 per couple and $79 for singles. 4. Company celebrates 45 years
Johnson Insurance Agency, located inside the Chase bank building at 1111 N. 5. Pajama drive
Kids Day Out Preschool, 3805 Stonebridge Drive, located inside Hope Bible Fellowship Church, will host a pajama drive March 12 and 13 in conjunction with the Greater Austin chapter of the national Pajama Program. The Pajama Program launched in the Austin area in January and has already helped provide 360 sets of pajamas to local children in protective services. The charity is working with nine shelters in Austin, Round Rock and Pflugerville. Donations can be brought to Kids Day Out Preschool during the pajama drive from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Call 563-8931 to host a pajama drive or visit www.pajamaprogram.org.
6. New florist
Round Rock residents Nancy Coleman, Evelyn Pearson Woodward, Mary Frances Espinosa and Tracy Thatcher opened Round Rock Flowers & Gifts in February at 212 W. Main St. All varieties of fresh-cut flowers, floral arrangements and potted plants are available, as well as gifts such as humorous napkins, folk art, pewter pieces, specialty kitchen items, candles, oil cloth products and fine glass jewelry. 7. Grocery store sprouts up
Phoenix-based natural grocery store chain Sprouts Farmer’s Market signed a lease for a 30,000 sq. ft. space in the Market at Round Rock shopping center, 220 N. IH 35, where Albertsons was previously located. The store is expected to open in the fall of 2009. Visit www.sprouts.com.
8. Shoot for the star
A new café and coffee house, Star Co., opens at 114 E. Main St. in mid-March. The locally owned business offers grab-and-go items such as baked goods, soup, salad, wraps and coffee. Catering, delivery, free Wi-Fi and a conference room are available. Call 388-6302 or visit www.starcocoffee.com.
9. Frozen yogurt

10. Help for victims
The Round Rock Police Department is seeking volunteers for its Victims Service Unit program to assist officers in providing services to victims of crime, trauma and other critical life events. Training classes will begin March 26 and will be held in conjunction with the Cedar Park and Georgetown police departments’ programs. The first training class will be at the Round Rock Police Department, 2701 N. Mays St., and future classes will rotate locations in the three cities. Volunteers will complete more than 30 hours of classroom training and be asked to fulfill a one-year commitment to participate in the program. Registration is free. Ceramic impressions
Amy Hoffman recently moved her three-year-old home-based business, Sonshine Prints by Amy, from Austin to Round Rock. 11. Office space
New office space opened March 1 at Dessau Ridge Office Condominiums, 1508 Dessau Ridge Lane. Phase one of the complex includes 22 units that are 1,000 sq. ft. each. Space is available for $129,900 to purchase or $1,350 per month to lease. 12. SuperTarget opening

13. Pflugerville Donuts
Pflugerville Donuts will open its third location in the community in mid-March. The new donut shop is located at 1616 FM 685, Ste. 104, near RadioShack in the Pfluger Crossing shopping center. Donuts, kolaches, breakfast tacos and coffee are available.
14. New restaurant
Doc’s Drafthouse Bar and Grill opens in early March at 15821 Central Commerce Drive, where the Water Tank Too was previously located. The Austin-based restaurant serves burgers and fish tacos and has 23 beers on tap. Visit www.docsaustin.com.
15. Orthodontist relocated
