PISD Timmerman Elementary closed May 5-6 for possible case of swine flu

Pflugerville ISD announced at approximately 2:30 p.m. May 4 that Timmerman Elementary will be closed May 5-6 in response to a possible case of North American H1N1 influenza, commonly known as the swine flu. Classes are expected to resume Thursday, May 7.
PISD spokesperson Amanda Brim said closing the school for two days will give district staff time to thoroughly clean the campus and receive additional guidance from Austin/Travis County Health and Human Services.
The Pflugerville ISD website and Timmerman Elementary campus marquee will be updated with additional information as it becomes available. As of 5 p.m. May 4, Timmerman Elementary is the only PISD campus that has been closed, and all other campuses are operating as usual.
