The second of three community meetings in which local residents, business owners and land owners have the opportunity to provide input on the city's new comprehensive plan will be held July 9 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at Pfluger Hall, 203-B E. Pecan St. This meeting will be a visioning workshop in which attendees will break into small groups and prepare scenarios with chips representing Pflugerville households, arranging them to accommodate 30,000 households — roughly 130,000 people — in the city. Each table will present their city's plan at the end, and consultants will aggregate the data into scenarios for the final meeting August 6.

The comprehensive plan will guide decisions for the next 20 years in Pflugerville regarding growth, development and regulation within the Pflugerville city limits and its extra-territorial jurisdictions. The plan is in development and received citizen input through a previous public meeting June 11 in which more than 170 community members voiced their opinions on community values.

The Pflugerville planning department, Pflugerville Community Development Corporation and the city council also met to prioritize issues and address best-practice methods to increase Pflugerville's presence in the Central Texas area. The plan is scheduled to be drafted after all community input is evaluated. It will then undergo a public adoption process. The final plan will incorporate comments from the city council and planning and zoning commission.
