The library and student services building is included in the first phase of construction on the campus, along with a health science center, a central utility plant and two buildings that will house the school’s general studies and applied technology programs. Construction of the five buildings is on track to be completed in time for the school’s opening in August 2010, when 5,000 students are expected to enroll.

Facilities available to the first class of students will include radiology labs, automotive shops, administrative offices, traditional classrooms and space for other uses ranging from microbiology research to welding workshops.

ACC President and CEO Stephen Kinslow said the school will work with institutions, such as Texas State University and Texas A&M Health Science Center, to add an array of new opportunities for students in the area. The three campuses are located adjacent to one another along CR 112 near University Boulevard.

“The campus will build on a synergy that already exists,” Kinslow said.

Project manager John Anglada of Spawglass Contractors said crews are working on roofing, ducts and electrical systems in three of the buildings, and slabs were recently poured for the utility plant and the applied technology building.Framework is complete on the library and student services building at ACC's Round Rock Campus

Four other buildings are planned for later phases, possibly including a second health sciences facility, two additional general studies buildings and a grounds maintenance facility. The future buildings will add about 325,000 sq. ft. of floor space and accommodate 6,500 more students, for a total capacity of about 11,500 students at full build-out.
