1. Color your own concrete

2. Play and learn

3. De-Luxe boutique

4. Art & Frame Warehouse

5. Scratch-and-dent merchandise
Justin French recently opened Austin Appliance Connection at 12027 Bethel Church Road. The new business sells scratch-and-dent appliances and repairs high-end appliances. Call 280-3274.
6. Need a new ‘do?
In July Asora Salon, 3421 W. William Cannon Drive, Ste. 123, will open under the ownership of Afshin Sohrabi. Services will include hair styling and massage therapy. Call 899-0900.
7. Wash me!
H2O Hand Car Wash & Detail is purchasing the Genie Car Wash chain, including the location at [7a] 1021 W. William Cannon Drive. The official ownership change will be complete by September. 8. It’s snowing cones
A new snow cone and taco oasis, Tacos Por Vida, Refrescos del Sur, opened in May at 1017 Slaughter Lane. Owner Elle Kosta travels to the birthplace of the snow cone, the Snow Wizard in New Orleans, for unique flavors like Granny Smith apple and strawberry cheesecake. Kosta will soon add a volleyball court next to the outdoor seating. Call 590-1826.
9. Out with the old
Qwik Wash is undergoing a remodeling project replacing all washers and dryers with energy efficient machines. Located at 6800 West Gate Blvd., the laundromat is now fully attended with a press and fold service available. Call 294-3679.
10. For pearly whites
A new dentist office under the ownership of Dr. Lakshmi Chittajallu will open in July at 5700 Slaughter Lane, Bldg. 2, Ste. 200. Chittajallu has 15 years of general dentistry practice and plans to hire six more dentists at her office. Call 637-7333.
11. Commercial glazing
Allglass Contract Glazing recently moved to 8708 S. Congress Ave. from the owner’s home. Kevin Sanders has been running the commercial contract glazing business for 12 years and serving customers nationwide. Call 292-4561.
12. Sushi bar
Yanagi Japanese Restaurant and Sushi Bar, 4404 W. William Cannon Drive, Ste. B, opened June 12. Call 891-0989.
13. Neighborhood growing

14. Fit to serve
Green Feet Fitness will launch its first fitness camp July 6. A new business founded by Jen Andrews and Gary Snyder, Green Feet also offers community service events in which participants dually master getting fit and serving a local charity. 15. Grab a tray
Austin’s seventh Luby’s Cafeteria is being constructed on Slaughter Lane in Southpark Meadows. Phase one, which includes the installation of site utilities and foundation, will be complete in July, while the restaurant will open in 2010. 16. My Gym debuts spring 2010
My Gym, a children’s playtime and fitness center, has plans to open a second Austin location south of Hwy. 290 W next May. An international operation, My Gym offers parent participation gym classes, independent classes for children and martial arts training. Call 444-6496 or visit www.my-gym.com.
17. Arttie Casual
Opening in July in Southpark Meadows, 9600 IH 35 S, Bldg. G, Ste. 200, Arttie Casual is a women’s casual clothing and accessories store. Owners are now hiring store employees. Call 280-1108.
18. Stonegate expansion
Four buildings have recently been completed at Stonegate II office park, 2500 W. William Cannon Drive, and now house the following businesses: Green Earth Engineering/Mother Nature’s Acupuncture and Chinese Herbs, Bldg. 2, Ste. 201 (217-3855), Austin Chiropractic Center, Bldg. 2, Ste. 205 (445-3366) and plastic surgeon Dan McGrath at McGrath Medical, Bldg. 3, Ste. 305 (474-4247). 19. Sweetbriar condos
