Sysco to merge Round Rock, San Antonio locations

Mark Palmer, vice president of corporate communications for Sysco Corporation, confirmed March 12 the company plans to construct a new, 600,000 sq. ft. facility off IH 35 in Schertz, Texas. Sysco is currently in the process of purchasing land, and once construction is complete—in about two years—the company will merge its Round Rock and San Antonio locations into the new facility.

Williamson County commissioners move forward with Great Oaks Drive extension plan

The Williamson County Commissioners Court voted March 11 to move forward with plans to extend Great Oaks Drive between RM 620 and McNeil Road in Round Rock. The construction budget for the project is estimated at $2 million, and plans could be finalized by the end of this year. Construction is expected to take 12 to 18 months to complete.

Meetings planned to form PTAs for new Round Rock schools

Enrollment at ACC Pflugerville Center up 86 percent

Enrollment at the Austin Community College District’s Pflugerville Center at Hendrickson High School increased more than 86 percent this spring, compared with spring 2009 figures. ACC has 108 students at the Pflugerville Center this semester, up from 58 the year before.
