Sunset Valley art festival to feature solar-powered stage

AUSTINWith a spotlight on local artists, the Sunset Valley Artfest will take place April 25 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Scheduled music acts include Bowie Steel Drums, Dr. Zog Band, White Ghost Shivers and Austin Lounge Lizards, who plan to perform on a solar-powered stage. Event planners also expect fifty art vendors in addition to Art Seen Alliance, Texas Society of Sculptors, Art of Texas and Austin Bike Zoo.

The Sunset Valley Arts Commission is sponsoring the festival and will also showcase Eco Kids, a cooperative children's activity where participants design and create their own playgrounds. Eco Kids is an educational program funded by the City of Sunset Valley. Socks on a Rooster, JimJim's Water Ice and Arrarat will be selling food.

The free event will be held at 3200 Jones Road, next to the Sunset Valley Farmers Market.
