Two new candidates ran for Sunset Valley City Council and were voted in by residents May 9. Rose Cardona and Liz Wright will replace outgoing council members Carla Jenkins and Sue Kalar. Incumbent John Moore, Mayor Pro Tem, was reelected.
With the support of 90.9 percent of voters, Proposition 1 passed. The proposition reauthorizes a half cent local sales and use tax in the City of Sunset Valley at the rate of one fourth of one percent to continue providing revenue for maintenance and repair of municipal streets.
