The Greater Austin Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is accepting nominations for distinguished small businesses until July 17. Seven winners will be announced September 17 during the first Capital of Texas Awards, "Small Business: The Heart of the Texas Economy," at the Radisson Hotel, 111 E. Cesar Chavez Street. Award winners will also receive a gift package including one year of free membership in the GAHCC.

Nominations are open to all small businesses and organizations in the Austin area in the following categories: food/beverage, media, sports/recreation, services, retail/shopping, education/nonprofit, and rising star (open less than three years.)

Members of the GAHCC Award Selection Committee will select the strongest three nominees from each category to proceed in the selection process. The Austin community can then vote on the GAHCC website for their favored candidate in each category.  The online community vote will determine the winner in each category.
