MoPac, Hwy. 290 interchange gets funding

The incomplete roadway ramps on MoPac just south of Hwy. 290 will no longer lead to nowhere. On Nov. 19, the City of Austin’s transportation department announced the logistics of a joint plan with the Texas Department of Transportation to fund the completion of the two missing direct connections at the interchange for Northbound MoPac to Eastbound Hwy. 290, and Westbound and Hwy. 290 to Southbound MoPac.

Construction to begin on SH 45 turnaround

State and local officials joined the Texas Department of Transportation broke ground Nov. 16 on the west-to-east turnaround lane at the intersection of SH 45 and RM 1826. The turnaround is designed to allow motorists to bypass congestion at the intersection but also include access for cyclists who ride along the corridor.
